- 2 medium sized beets
- 400g (14 oz) chickpeas
- 1/2 lemon
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: sesame seeds, rosemary, thyme…
Preparation of the beet:
Preheat Oven to 180C.
Wash the beets and wrap them in foil. Plače them on a baking sheat and let them roast for about 1 hour. They must become completely soft.
Let them cool on room temperature or in the fridge.
Once cooled, rub the skin off- they schould peel away easily.
Basic humus recipe:
First you Cook the chickpeas. They take about one hour to Cook in boiling water. Then you rinse them with cold water and let them cool.
When the chickpeas cool down you put them in the blender and mix them with all the other ingredients (except beet).
This is the ordinary humus recipe.
Make the humus just like the recipe before. When the humus is mixed Just add the beet and blend until you get a smooth cream.
